Privacy
Stickee Words is a word puzzle game. This page says, in plain words, what the game stores about you, why, and how to have it removed. It is written by the person who runs the game, not by a lawyer.
What is stored
- An account. The moment you open the game you get a guest account with a random id, so your scores and tokens can follow you. If you sign in with Google or an email address, that email (and, from Google, your display name) is attached to the same account. You do not have to sign in to play.
- Your games. For the Daily puzzle, the moves you made (where each block landed), the score the server computed from them, and the day you played. The move list is kept for 90 days so a score can be checked, then deleted. Your streak of consecutive days is kept on your account.
- Groups. If you create or join a group: the group's name, the name you chose to show beside your scores, and your Daily scores for that group's board, which the other members can see.
- Tokens. Your Asterix Token balance and, per day, how many ad rewards you claimed.
- On your device only. Your settings, a copy of your token balance so the screen is never blank, the name you last used on a group board, and your answer to the analytics question below. These live in your browser's storage and never leave it.
Analytics
If you tap OK on the analytics bar, the game sends Google Analytics a handful of events: a game started or ended and its score, a Daily filed, a share, a reload, an ad reward, a group made or joined, an account linked, and any errors the game hits. No event carries your name, your email or your moves. If you tap No thanks, nothing is sent, and you are not asked again on that device.
Ads
There are no advertising networks in the game today. The "watch a video" reward is a short animation the game itself plays. If real ads are added, this page will say which network, and a consent choice will be asked first where the law requires it.
What is not done
- Nothing is sold or shared with anyone for marketing.
- No passwords are seen by the game: sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication (a Google service). Your data is stored in Google Cloud in the United States.
- The game is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 13, please play as a guest and do not sign in.
Removing your data
Tap your avatar in the game, then Delete my account. It works for guests too. It removes, straight away: the account and the email or Google sign-in attached to it, its token balance and streak, and your place in every group. Scores already filed stay on the boards they were filed to, because other players' rankings depend on them, but your name on them is replaced with “Deleted player”. A group you own goes to its longest-standing member, or is deleted if you were the only one. The moves of your Daily games expire on their own after 90 days.
If you cannot get into the game, email chris.gerchak@gmail.com from the address on your account and the same will be done by hand.
